established from the peripheral blood of a 7-year-old Japanese boy with acute myeloid leukemia (AML FAB M2) (in 2nd relapse after bone marrow transplantation) in 1989; cells carry the t(8;21) leading to RUNX1-RUNX1T1 (AML1-ETO) fusion gene; described in the literature to carry the KIT mutation N822.The STR identification in this library is correct.
